Klarna Fees

Version 1.0 · Effective 02.11.2026

This page sets out the Cross-border Fees and dispute fees that Nomupay charges for Klarna Transactions. It is the Klarna Fee Page referred to in the Nomupay Klarna Terms and forms part of your Agreement with us. Capitalised words have the meanings given in the Klarna Terms.

Cross-border Fees

A Cross-border Fee applies to a Klarna Transaction when the Customer Country differs from your Merchant Country, as determined by Klarna. The rate depends on your merchant region and the Customer's region.

  • The Customer Country is the country of the Customer's billing address. Your Merchant Country is the country in which your Selling Entity is incorporated or registered to do business.
  • The fee is a percentage of the gross amount of the Klarna Transaction, including any sales tax or VAT. It is exclusive of VAT.
  • It is charged in addition to the merchant discount rate and any fixed fee in your Fee Schedule.
  • It is not refunded if the Klarna Transaction is refunded or reversed, or becomes subject to a Claim Return.
  • We deduct it from settlement or recover it as set out in the Klarna Terms.
  • Where the Customer Country and your Merchant Country differ but are in the same region, the Cross-border Fee is 0.00%.

To find the fee, take the column for your merchant region and the row for the Customer's region.

If Klarna makes the Klarna Payment Services available in a new country, we will add it to the relevant region on this page. Until we do, the region that Klarna applies to that country applies.

Dispute fees

The following fees apply to Disputes in addition to the chargeback fee in your Fee Schedule. Fees stated in USD are converted into your Settlement Currency, where it is not USD, at the rate that applies under clause 10.8 of the Klarna Terms on the date the fee is charged.

Challenge Fee

If you challenge the outcome of a Dispute and the challenge is unsuccessful, you pay a Challenge Fee for each lost challenge. The fee depends on the date of the lost challenge.

PeriodChallenge Fee
Until 7 February 2027USD 600
From 8 February 2027USD 50

Dispute programme fees

If Klarna places you in its dispute programme for merchants, the chargeback fee in your Fee Schedule increases for each Dispute. The increase is shown below as a percentage of that chargeback fee. It depends on your programme level and on how many months you have been in the programme. The increase ends when you exit the programme.

Until 7 February 2027

Programme levelMonths 1–3Months 4–6Month 7 onwards
High100% (no increase)200%200%, plus a monthly fee of USD 15,000
Excessive200%200%, plus a monthly fee of USD 15,000200%, plus a monthly fee of USD 15,000

From 8 February 2027

Programme levelMonths 1–3Months 4–6Month 7 onwards
High100% (no increase)200%300%
Excessive200%300%400%

The percentage that applies is the one in force on the date of the Dispute. A monthly fee applies for each calendar month, or part of one, that you spend at that stage. Months you have already spent in the programme count towards these periods after 8 February 2027.

The programme levels, and the thresholds for entering and exiting them, are set by the Klarna Rules.

Example: from 8 February 2027, your chargeback fee is EUR 20 and you are in month 5 at the Excessive level. You pay EUR 60 for each Dispute (300% of EUR 20).

Risk programme fees (until 7 February 2027)

Until 7 February 2027, Klarna may place you in its risk programme for merchants for fraudulent activity or a breach of the Klarna Rules. While you are in it, you pay a monthly fee until all breaches are remedied and you exit the programme.

Breach categoryMonthly fee
Minor breachUSD 5,000
Major breachUSD 10,000

The risk programme and its fees end on 8 February 2027.

Other fees

Your other fees for Klarna Transactions are agreed with you individually and are not published here.

  • Your Fee Schedule sets out the merchant discount rate and any fixed fee for each Payment Program, the refund fee and the chargeback fee.
  • Other fees that Klarna charges in connection with your Klarna Transactions are recovered as set out in clauses 9.6 and 10.1(c) of the Klarna Terms, to the extent your Fee Schedule and the Cross-border Fees do not cover them.

Changes to this page

We may change the fees on this page by updating it and giving you at least 30 days' notice. Where the change reflects a change by Klarna and Klarna gives us less notice, we will give you as much notice as we reasonably can (clause 10.3 of the Klarna Terms). Previous versions of this page are available on request.
