The Payouts solution is a standalone disbursement solution. It is built on a Good Funds Model which means that your organisation will be required to send funds to Nomupay prior to making payments to your recipients. These funds will be deposited into a dedicated For Benefit Of (or FBO) funding account. This FBO account allows Nomupay to safely and securely manage funds on your behalf.

Funds that are deposited into your funding account are shown within your funding balance. At the heart of Nomupay's unified platform, the funding balance is composed of 2 sub-balance types:

  • the pending balance.
  • the available balance.

In the Payouts solution, funds that are deposited into your funding account will be visible in the available balance and thus can be used for payout activities.

After having onboarded your recipients and configured their transfer method, then you are ready to pay your recipients. To trigger the payment, you simply provide Nomupay with the required payout instructions via API. The associated funds will be debited from your funding balance (removing them from your available balance) and transferred to your recipients’ transfer method.

Payout Model

The Payouts solution is built to accommodate for the remittance payout model. The remittance model offers funds be sent directly to a recipient’s preferred transfer method, i.e. directly to their bank account or alternative payment method, based on the payment instructions that you provide to the unified platform.

The remittance model is designed for either one-time payouts, such as refunds, rewards, insurance claims, or it can also be used to provide recurring payouts (for example, commissions and seller fees).

Customer Types

The Payouts solution can be architected to handle different customer types and their corresponding use cases:

Customer type Goal
Enterprise merchants, platforms and marketplaces Large organisations that have their own in-house payment infrastructure and are eager to technically integrate with Nomupay's Payouts solution to improve their fee, reward, commission or claims payout disbursement capabilities.
Referral partner

Customer that has a network of enterprise merchants or marketplaces that they wish to refer to Nomupay.

Referral partners do not technically integrate with the Payouts solution themselves, rather, they assist the Nomupay team with relationship management and defining the proper solution. This could include consultants, industry associations, etc.

The Payout solution requires merchants, platforms and marketplaces to integrate with Nomupay’s unified platform. The technical integration is done via API and will be explained during your integration phase.

If you are interested in becoming a Nomupay referral partner for our Payouts solution, please contact our solutioning team directly for more information specific to this use case.
